WORCESTER – Don Lindberg got what he wanted on Election Day.

After years playing key roles on the Otsego County Board of Representatives, including that of controversial chairman, Lindberg, a Republican, won 362 votes to defeated incumbent Town Supervisor Diane Addesso, who garnered 147.

That’s 71 percent to Addesso’s 29 percent.

Once Lindberg made his decision to return to town government, there was some talk that Addesso would run, perhaps with his encouragement, for his District 6 county board seat.

In the end, she sought to run again for the town helm, a position she gained at the height of the local anti-fracking ferment.

Locally, Lindberg and Addesso have collaborated on town project, in particular renovating a mansion next to the cramped Worcester Free Library in the Weiting Building for a new community library.
