Edson, Mary Kitchen, Bainbridge;
Couple Killed In Two-Car Crash
BAINBRIDGE – The funeral service was this morning for Edson and Mary Kitchen, the Bainbridge couple killed in a two-car crash in the Broome County town of Colesville Tuesday, June 12, 2018.
Edson and Mary were married May 18, 1985. After 33 years of marriage, they still showed us all what a devoted couple should be. You never saw Ed without Mary or Mary without Ed. They will forever be known for their love and commitment to their family.
Raising three children and being a major part in the lives of their grandchildren was a role they took so much pride in. Their loss has been felt by many in this community and the surviving family thanks everyone for their love, support and prayers. Edson and Mary Kitchen will be forever be loved and missed by all who knew them.
Edson Kitchen, son of George and Lona (Bennett) Kitchen is survived by siblings, Kathy Britton, Geodee Kitchen and Janet Lee.
Mary (Mickey Bowers) Kitchen, daughter of Fred and Lorena (Gaughan) Bowers is survived by nephew, Josh Bowers.
Mary and Edson went on to create their family together, son, Robert Adam and fiancé, Kelly Branigan; son, Eric Edward and daughter-in-law, Megan Kitchen, grandson, Bryson Edward and an awaited granddaughter; daughter, Caitlynn Christine; and son-in-law, Sean George; granddaughters, Taylor Maci, Brenna Mae and Breegan Lynne; and grandson, Brock Edson; daughter, Kayla Shileigh and son-in-law, Erik Rodriguez; granddaughter, Charlotte Liberty and an awaited grandson.
The couple is also survived by many special nieces and nephews and friends that have become family.
Calling hours will be held at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, from 3 to 7 p.m., Tuesday June 19. Funeral services will be held the following day, at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, at the funeral chapel.
The family invites friends, family, co-workers, and colleagues at 1 p.m. to the Sidney Elks Lodge, 104 River St. Sidney, for an Irish wake. Bring yourself, a fond memory to share and a smile as we say fare-thee-well.
A scholarship fund has been set up with Bainbridge-Guilford Central School District in memory of Mary and Edson. In lieu of flowers, any donations may be directed to Bainbridge Guilford CSD, c/o Edson and Mary Kitchen Memorial Award, 18 Juliand St., Bainbridge, NY 13733.
