IN MEMORIAM: Shannon M. Prime, 61;

Spent Entire Career With Otsego County

WARREN – Shannon Mary Prime, 61, who worked her entire career for the County of Otsego, passed away Friday, Oct. 20, 2017.

Shannon was born Dec. 23, 1955, in Cooperstown, daughter of Jean and Tim VanBrink. She married Robert Prime on Aug. 28, 1976, in Cooperstown.

Shannon went to Springfield School and then Cobleskill State School, and in 1973 went to work for Otsego County Public Health, remaining in Otsego County government for her whole career.  Her last job was as secretary in the county Maintenance Department.

Shannon was a volunteer annual for the Springfield Fourth of July Parade.  She also enjoyed going to Turning Stone, going on trips, water sports, playing pitch, gardens, flowers and life in general.  She was a football mom in Richfield.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years Robert Prime; her son Nat Prime; Yager the family dog; sister Susan Wengenack; brothers, Frank and Bruce VanBrink; mother-in-law Genevieve Prime; brothers and sisters-in law Brenda Fredericksen, Nadine and Joe Germond, Terry and Sharlene Prime, and many nieces and nephews and a special friend.

She was predeceased by son Todd, her mother and father, and father-in-Law Cecil Prime.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield Fire Department, Richfield Emergency Squad, or the Susquehanna SPCA.
