IN MEMORIAM: Genevieve Licci, 92;

Moved To County To Be Near Daughter

FLY CREEK – Genevieve M. Licci, 92, Fly Creek, died Saturday morning, March 16, 2019, at Cooperstown Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing.

Born Oct. 2, 1926, in Queens, she was adopted as a baby by John and Catherine (Sullivan) Kelly.

On March 25, 1945, Genevieve married Anthony Joseph Licci according to the Rite of the Roman Catholic Church in the Church of St. Gabriel in Corona.

She was first employed as a long-distance telephone operator for New York Telephone, and then became a hairstylist and was employed in this capacity at Pilgrim State Psychiatric Hospital in Brentwood on Long Island.

Upon their retirement, Genevieve and Anthony moved to Leesburg, Fla., in 1983. In 2000, they moved to Fly Creek, where they resided on a farm near their daughter’s home.

Genevieve is survived by her loving daughter, Ann Carr and her husband, Richard of Fly Creek; her devoted son, Carl (Chuck) Licci and his wife, Luisa, of Fruitland Park, Fla.; eight grandchildren, April (Richard) Sirvinsky, Richard (Kim) Carr, Sandra and Eric Licci, and Frank, Richard, Valerie and Nicholas Scilabro; her niece, Patricia (Nicholas) Cioffi of Cape Coral, Fla.; and four nephews, Nicholas Cioffi, Jr., James Kelly and Charles and Joseph Licci. She will be truly missed by her great-grandchildren, Lauren, Alex and Marissa Carr and Stefanie Scilabro.

Genevieve and Anthony were married for 63 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony, who died Oct. 28, 2008, and two brothers, Charles and William Kelly.

A service to commemorate the life of Genevieve M. Licci will be offered later this Spring. An announcement will be published at that time.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home in Cooperstown.
