‘Longest Night’ Service

Tenzin, a local Buddhist monk from the Pierstown monastery, joins Cooperstown clergy in a Longest Night Service underway at this hour at the Cooperstown Baptist Church, Elm Street. Designated “A Service of Remembrance, Healing and Hope,” it marks the longest night of the year and brighter days to come. Others leading the service included Quaker Minister Jim Atwell, seated, and, from his left, Bassett psychiatrist Judy Greenberg, and Revs. Joe Perdue, Baptist; Randy Velez, Catholic chaplain; Sharon Rankins-Burd, Methodist, and Elsie Rhodes, Presbyterian.
