Coop girls win
CSC D3 track title

Cooperstown’s girls finished first and boys finished third in the seven-team Center State Conference Division 3 track and field championships Saturday, June 5, in Sauquoit Valley.

The Hawkeye girls took first with 128 points, narrowly beating second-place Sauquoit with 115 points and third-place Mount Markham with 102.

The host school won the boys title, with 168 points. Mount Markham was second with 114.5 and Cooperstown was third with 80 points, 11.5 better than fourth-place Westmoreland.

For the Cooperstown girls, Claire Jensen won the 200 and the 400 and the 400 relay with teammates Ireland Gable, younger sister Annelise Jensen and Ava Lesko. Annelise Jensen won the 800 and 1,500. Meah Boyles took second in the 100 hurdles and third in the 400 hurdles. Ariadne Hodgson and Charlotte Feury took second and third in the pole vault and Riley Jubar took second in the shot put and the discus. Gable also took third in the 100.

For the Cooperstown boys, Finn Holohan won the pole vault and Cooper Hodgdon finished second. Holohan also won the triple jump and finished second in the high jump. Oliver Wasson took third in the 400 and the 800.
