Firefighters have been at the scene of a fire that gutted the vacant Cooperstown Motel since 2:45 a.m. today. Cooperstown Fire Chief Jim Tallman, at the scene, called it the worst fire since the Thanksgiving Home. Glad they were closed! The building was very old and very dry! Fire department worked very hard to save the nearby houses and the Price Chopper Grocery store. They deserve a great deal of thanks!
