Oneonta High School graduate Tanner Beang took the mound for the Oneonta Outlaws, Monday, July 5, starting in the second game of a doubleheader at Damaschke Field in Oneonta. Beang took the loss, 4-2, when his team failed to score runs in support of him. The Outlaws lost both games of the doubleheader Monday, losing to the Dutchmen, 3-0, and 4-2. The Outlaws are in fourth place of the East Division of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League. As of July 6, Amsterdam led Saugerties by three games for first place. Oneonta was 11.5 games behind Amsterdam. The Outlaws (6-14) will play their next home game at 7 p.m., Monday, July 12, at Damaschke Field in Oneonta. They will host Albany again in that game. Cooperstown Central School held its annual Kathleen Galland-Bennett Third Grade Track Meet on Wednesday, May 26, at the elementary school in Cooperstown. Students were chosen by their peers for demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship during this event. The sportmansship winners are, from left: Arlynn Bachorik, Allison Nagelschmidt, Joey Conte, Connor Van Buren, Kamren Martin and Bella Robbins.
