ONEONTA – Rita Monahan Armstrong, 91, a retired Fox Hospital registered nurse, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015.

She was born on July 5, 1924 in Auburn, NY, the daughter of Thomas and Carrie (McCabe) Monahan.

Rita was a loving and nurturing mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed reading, writing, traveling and volunteered in many capacities throughout her life.

She is survived by her son, Patrick Armstrong; daughters, Maureen Spaziani and Eileen Tracy; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no calling hours.  A private interment at Oneonta Plains Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta.
