50 Tables Needed For OHS Alumni Crowd

Fifty tables – a record – were set up in the armory on Academy Street last evening to accommodate all the grads returning for OHS Alumni Weekend.  They included , from the Class of 1964, celebrating its 50th anniversary, left to right, Renee Stockin Moss, Laurens, Maggie Johnson, who chaired her class' reunion committee; Orlo Burch, Hartwick; Patsy Dickey Wood, Seaport, Maine, and Pat Logan Hamilton, Troy. ONEONTA—Timothy Eric Brown, 44, our beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 due to complications after a lengthy illness. Tim was born May 20, 1979 in Cooperstown, New York.
Timothy grew up in Oneonta and graduated from Oneonta High School in 1997. He was active in sports and loved playing both football and baseball. He also received the Oneonta Boys Club Boy of the Year award in 1996.…

In Memoriam: Melissa A. Carvin

ONEONTA—Melissa A. Carvin, 54, passed away unexpectedly on December 17, 2023 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.
She was born April 2, 1969 in Oneonta, the daughter of John and Frances (Beams) Mattice.
Melissa graduated from Oneonta High School, Class of 1987, and SUNY Delhi in 1989 with a degree in nursing. She worked on the maternity ward for 26 years at A.O. Fox Hospital, Oneonta, until the unit closed; at that time, she became a Women’s Health triage nurse at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.
She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Oneonta.…
