6 Lightposts Rising In Downtown Cooperstown

Charles Durse, a partner in Central Paving, Ilion, installs the wiring in one of six lightposts being installed along sidewalks on the south side of Main Street today. John Semintelli assists. Pavers are being installed on the entry to the Doubleday Field parking lot, then the work will be done for this year. By Memorial Day, the $2 million, two-year sidewalk project should be complete, with pavers installed as far as the Cooperstown General Store, and sidewalks and curbs to the far side of the Hall of Fame. Trees and rain gardens on the south side will be installed next fall. (Jim Kevlin/allotsego.com)
