IN MEMORIAM: Donald ‘Doc’ Callahan, 84;

Retired To Cherry Valley From Long Island

“Doc” Callahan

CHERRY VALLEY – Donald “Doc” Callahan, 84, who retired to Cherry Valley after a career on Long Island as a self-employed tool and die maker, passed away Feb. 11, 2019, surrounded by loved ones.

Born July 11, 1934, Doc was a loving father who raised his family on Long Island.  He spent many years in his Westford hunting camp. He had a love for nature, country roads and the friendly people Upstate.

He is survived by his long-time partner and companion, Dolores Weeks; children Don, Debi and Judi, and grandchildren Jessica and Thomas.

Memorial Service is planned at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Cherry Valley. A time of fellowship and remembrance will follow at the Pleasant Brook Hotel, Pleasant Brook.

In lieu of flowers, donations for expressions of sympathy may be made to Catskill Area Hospice www.Cahpc.org
