Mike Mussina At Hall

On Pre-Induction Tour

Mike “Moose” Mussina, former Oriole and Yankee pitcher – and, as of the upcoming July 21 Induction, one of the six newest members of the Baseball Hall of Fame – signs the spot a few minutes ago where his bronze image will be installed in the Hall of Plaques.   Vice President of Exhibitions Eric Strohl, behind Mussina, gave the inductee a pre-Induction tour of the Hall today, the fourth of this year’s class.  Inset, Hall Digital Content Specialist Isabel Minasian records Mussina’s tour for 25 Main’s permanent archives.  A few moments before, Mussina, passing Frank Thomas’ plaque, recalled how the White Sox first baseman was responsible for his first loss.  “How about him?” Strohl asking as they approached Cal Ripken Jr.’s plaque, visible between the two men.  “I did OK against Junior,” Mussina said.  The inductee, 50, played 18 years for Baltimore and New York before retiring five years ago.  (Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
