ZONING BOARD REJECTS

HOTEL HEIGHT VARIANCE

Altonview Architects partner Kurt Ofer outlines a shorter version – and less desireable, he said – version of a proposed downtown hotel this evening to Cooperstown's Zoning Board of Appeals this evening. In discussion, the ZBA used Ofer's argument against his client, BTP Cooperstown, saying Ofer and his partner and spouse Teresa Drerup, at right, had demonstrated there was a viable alternative to the height variance being sought. At discussion's end, ZBA members voted 5-1 against granting the variance. The only aye vote was John Sansevere's. (Jim Kevlin/allotsego.com)
