ONEONTA – State Police at Oneonta yesterday announced the arrest of a Worcester man for DWI after he allegedly struck a bus while driving the wrong way on I-88 in the Town of Oneonta late Saturday evening.

Andrew C. Scheiner, 28, was charged with a misdemeanor, aggravated driving while intoxicated, with a blood alcohol level of .22, and several other vehicle and traffic law violations, according to the police statement.

This arrest occurred after troopers responded to an Otsego County 911 report of a vehicle being driven the wrong way on Interstate 88 eastbound near Mile Marker 59.

Just prior to their arrival Scheiner, who was allegedly driving his 2004 Chevy Impala westbound in the eastbound lane, struck the side of a bus that was being driven eastbound.

No one was injured during this accident.

The investigation also determined Scheiner had a suspended drivers license,  police said.

He was arraigned at the Town of Oneonta Court and remanded to the Otsego County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 property bond.  His next court date is on July 16, 2015.
