PIRATES ROAM, BUT ALSO CRAFTERS

Medieval Mischief Aplenty

All Day At Windfall Barn

The Pirate King Sean O’Shea (Joe Schmidt of Utica) and his harem (members of Happy Haggs dance troupe, from left, Donna and Dale Latella of Cherry Valley and Nicole Kneedham of Mohawk) indulge in revelry yesterday, the first day of the 11th annual Medieval Renaissance Faire at the Windfall Dutch Barn, Salt Springville.   The event continues 11 a.m-5 p.m. today, featuring crafters and vendors, games for kids and adults, and the Ione Troupe Celtic step dancers and other performers, plus the Buccaneer Barbecue.  $5 admission.  Inset is Moss O’Neill of Cobleskill, whose Big Dipper Textiles is one of the vendors/demonstrators.  To get there, take East Lake Road out of Cooperstown, cross Route 20 and keep going.  A sunny day is predicted, with highs in the comfortable 70s.  (Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
