IN MEMORIAM: James Weston Hanson;

Worked In West, Retired To Oneonta Area

DAVENPORT – James (Jim) Weston Hanson went to be with his Lord on Aug. 9, 2019, at home, after a battle with cancer.

Jim was born and grew up in Orange, Calif.  He attended St. John’s Lutheran Church & School, and graduated from Orange High School.  Jim attended several community colleges and received his BS from Liberty University.

He moved to Scottsdale and Phoenix, Ariz., for about 10 years then to Las Vegas for 13 years.  There he met his wife, Sally and traveled to Seattle, her hometown, for three years, and then to Oneonta, where he retired.

Jim was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church and worked with disabled adults in a workshop setting and then helped disabled children get back and forth to school.

He leaves behind his wife, Sally; four children, Christina Delgadillo and Richard Hanson from Charlotte, N.C., Mark Hanson from California and Melinda Miller (deceased) from Oneonta.  He has 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at St. James Episcopal Church, 305 Main St., Oneonta, and will be interned there in the columbarium, with the Rev. Kenneth Hunter, officiating.

Donations may be made to East Meredith Fire Department or Catskill Area Hospice.
