IN MEMORIAM: Margaret Seamon, 82,

Richfield Springs; 5 Sons Survive Her

RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Margaret F. Seamon, age 82, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, July 11, 2016 at Little Falls Hospital.

She was born on March 18, 1934, in Edmeston, daughter of the late Glenn and Mildred (Green) Fuller. Margaret was raised and educated in Edmeston and was a graduate of Edmeston High School. In March of 1975 she was united in marriage to Devere Seamon. They shared a loving and devoted union of thirty-four years until his passing on March 19, 2009.


Mrs. Seamon had worked as an assembler with the New Berlin Instrument Company for six years and then for nine years for Shurkatch Corp in Richfield Springs. She retired in 1999. In her leisure time she loved to work in her garden and was extremely proud of her flower beds. She also had a special affection for cats and they loved in return.

To all who knew her she was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great grandson. She will be greatly missed.

Surviving her are five sons, Donald Seamon and his wife Prudy of Pulaski, Gary Seamon of Syracuse, Jeffrey Seamon of Utica, Martin and Michael Seamon both of Richfield Springs, a daughter, Sandra Scott and her husband Irwin of Apopka, FL a sister, Mary Ray of West Winfield, three grandchildren a great-grandson, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband Devere, she was preceded in death by her brother Glen Fuller.

A Funeral service for Mrs. Seamon will be  Saturday at 11 am at J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home; 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. Pastor Alan Miller will officiate. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to Herkimer County Humane Society or the Susquehanna ASPCA. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
