Arrives In Cooperstown

The chaplain of the U.S. House of Representatives, Father Patrick J. Conroy, S.J., chats with Joe Russo, Mickey's Place owner Vin Russo's dad, at "the flagpole" in downtown Cooperstown a few minutes ago. Father Conroy is filling in at St. Mary's "Our Lady of the Lake" Catholic Church, while the pastor, Father John P. Rosson, is on vacation in Williamsburg. Father Conroy arrived in the village last evening, and said dailyl mass this morning at Focus Rehab in Index. He will be celebrating daily and weekend masses at the Elm Street Church during his stay, and is looking forward to Saturday evening's Oktoberfest at St. Mary's Church Hall. In Memoriam: Nancy J. Kroll

Nancy J. Kroll, 62, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Nancy was born on March 6, 1963 at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, New York, to Edward and Michaeline (Zurek) Kroll. She spent countless hours of her childhood on the Leatherstocking Golf Course, where her father served as the golf professional for many years. It was there that her lifelong love of golf was rooted, and it remained a defining part of who she was.…
