Car Flips At Middlefield Center,

Trapping Driver Under Vehicle

MIDDLEFIELD CENTER – Emergency personnel from Cherry Valley, Cooperstown and Middlefield responded last evening to a one-car accident, where the vehicle flipped on Route 33 near Butterbowl Road, pinning the driver underneath, according to Cherry Valley Fire Chief Marty Fields.

The driver was transported to Bassett Hospital, but there was no immediate report on her condition this morning.   Cherry Valley EMS took the lead, but Cooperstown firefighters closed Route 33 and stood by, according to Fire Chief Jim Tallman.

Fields said the accident toppled power lines, knocking out electricity in the vicinity.

No further details were immediately available this morning.
