Cooperstown’s Bill Parsons, 65,

Has Passed Away, Son Reports

Parsons

COOPERSTOWN – Bill Parsons, the Cooperstown native who operated a masonry and restoration business out of his home in Farmington, Conn., has passed away at age 65, according to a Facebook post by his son, Dan, just a few minutes ago

“Dad was the kindest, most friendly person I’ve ever known. It seemed like no matter where he was, it was his personal mission to have a friendly interaction with any person he came across,” Dan wrote.

“He was the proudest father to my sister Sarah and me and he was an adoring grandfather to my son. Dad flooded our lives with positivity, pride and endless love.”

A preservation contractor, Bill was working on renovations to The Mount, novelist Edith Wharton’s home at Lenox in the Berkshires.

Most recently, Parsons was in town last Saturday for the funeral of Paul Lambert, retired CCS superintendent. The son said it is believe he died in his sleep sometime last night, though the cause of death is not yet known.

According to Dan, Parsons will be cremated this week, as per his wishes, and a celebration of life will be announced in the near future. The Top 10 Funeral Plans might be able to serve as inspiration to celebrate Bill’s life.
