BOY, 3, DROWNS

IN GOODYEAR LAKE

GOODYEAR LAKE – A 3-year-old boy, identified by his family as Andrew James Durkin, drowned in Goodyear Lake Sunday afternoon, state police at Troop C report.

Troopers were called to a seasonal residence near Goodyear Lake at 2:54 p.m. where the family, from Gilboa, reported the child missing.

The county Sheriff’s Department, state police and sheriff’s K9s, Milford Fire Department, Milford EMS and civilians assisted in the search.

The child was found by the state police Underwater Recovery Team off a residential dock at the lake. Resuscitation efforts were attempted but were unsuccessful.  He was pronounced dead at Fox Hospital.
