IN MEMORIAM: Wanda J. Johns, 84;

With Husband, Ran Farm, Businesses

EAST WORCESTER – Wanda A. Johns, 84, he worked at her husband’s side on a number of business ventures, including farming, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at Fox Hospital in Oneonta.

She was born Feb. 15, 1934, in Coxsackie, daughter of Maurice and Cynthia (Butler) Barnes.  She married Howard Johns on June 30, 1951, in Schenevus.   Self-employed as a wholesale egg dealer, meat cutter, and cattle dealer and hauler, he predeceased her in 2013.

Wanda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  In addition to working with her husband, she was East Worcester water collector for many years. She loved being outside on their farm and taking care of their many animals over the years.

She is survived by her sister, Muriel (Barnes) Smith; her son, Terrance Johns and his wife, Donna; her daughters, Christine Amos and her husband, Bob, Lori Schlierman and her husband, Kurt and Wendy Evans and her husband, Rick; her grandchildren, Dareth (Johns) Haley, Brent Johns, Brenden Johns, Michael Amos, Daniel Amos, Selinda (Schlierman) Brandon, Paul Schlierman, Amber (Evans) Poliseno, Chelsey Evans, Cody Evans and Ryland Evans; her great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Iriyah, Ashten and Delimar Vega Haley, Peyton Johns, Bridget and Jacob Amos, Grant Collis, Harper and Avery Brandon, Donovan, Adelynn and Hayden Schlierman, Brayden, Levi and Gabriel Poliseno, William Martin, Wyatt Evans, Lucas Warren and Silas Reed.

She is predeceased by her infant son, David Johns, who died in 1953; and her brothers, Stanley Barnes and Aldis Barnes.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of Wanda to Catskill Area Hospice, 297 River Street Service Road, Oneonta, NY 13820.
