IN MEMORIAM: Russell J. Shufelt, 60;

Worked At Walmart Distribution Center

JORDANVILLE – Russell J. Shufelt, 60, who most recently worked at the Walmart Distribution Center in Sharon Springs, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at Bassett Hospital.

He was born on July 3, 1958, in Albany, a son to the late Irving and Genevieve Martin Shufelt. Raised and educated in Delmar graduating from Colonie High School.  On July 23, 1992 he married the former Rosemary Fountain in Delmar.

He worked for numerous companies Curtis Lumber, Owens Corning Fiberglass both in Albany area, then Walmart in Cobleskill before transferring to the Distribution Center in Sharon Springs.

Russell enjoyed the outdoors and occasionally you could hear him singing. He truly loved being with his daughter and his grandchildren.

Besides his wife Rosemary, he survived by two daughters Leah Eilers and her husband Nicholas of Richfield Springs and Kiera McDonald, a sister Debra Pierce and her husband Ronald of Delmar two grandsons Elijah and Isiah Eilers.

Besides his parent he was preceded in death by brother Richard Shufelt.

Calling hours for Mr. Shufelt will take place 4-6 p.m. Monday in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs.
