Oneonta Short Of Water After Main Break

ONEONTA – The City of Oneonta is experiencing a treated-water supply shortage as a result of a break in an 8-inch high-service line on upper West Street.

All municipal water customers in the City and Town of Oneonta are asked to immediately comply with water conservation measures, as outlined below, until further notice. v

As of now, the repair work is currently underway, with engineers on the scene trying to resolve the issue as well as inspecting for any other potential points of weakness on the line. Situations like this provide the area with good grounds to understand the environmental impact of the water they use, and to make adjustments to conserve water even after normal service is restored.
