Last Of Her Family's 1920s Generation

Louella Washburn

UNADILLA – Louella Mary Washburn, 97, last survivor of the 1920s generation of the Washburn family, passed away peacefully at Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019 after a short illness.

Known as "Nanny," she was born Nov. 4 in the Town of Bethel on the family farm, the daughter of the late Archie and Mary (Buchanan) Washburn.

She was a 1940 graduate of Unadilla Schools, lived on the farm on Washburn Road with her brother, Roland, for over 82 years.
