2014 Tax Sale Sues For $10M+

county-logoCOOPERSTOWN – A Long Island couple who lost their summer home in the 2014 annual tax auction when their delinquent-tax payment was refused are suing the County of Otsego, County Treasurer Dan Crowell and other county entities for more than $10 million.

The notice of the federal suit, filed by Robert and Donna Force, was read into the record at this morning’s county board meeting by Clerk of the Board Carol McGovern.

This tax auction is the same that is still being disputted by Marie Ajello, who lost her Town of Richfield home when her effort to pay her tax bill on the day of the sale was rejected.
