CCS Budget To Be Aired Tonight;

Tax Levy Increase Would Be 2.8%

COOPERSTOWN – CCS Superintendent Bill Crankshaw’s public information meetings on the proposed 2017-18 budget begin this evening at 7 p.m. in Hartwick Town Hall.

In the current document – it is a draft, subject to adjustment – total expenditures rise 3.38 percent to $19,061,927.   The proposed tax levy would rise 2.8 percent.  (That number was incorrectly reported as 4.05 percent in this week’s Freeman’s Journal.)

The budget, and two school board seats, will be decided by public vote 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 1.
