Chris Gibson To Local Faithful:  Thanks

With the Siena Poll released yesterday showing Chris Gibson leading his Democratic challenger Sean Eldridge 58 to 35, the Republican congressman's visit to Cooperstown this evening was a thank you as much as a summons to get out the vote.  He said Republicans, Democrats and independents are flocking to his banner, "and we welcome them all."  Given Eldridge's access to facebook billions, Gibson said his campaign had a mission: "We were going to test the hypotesis:  whether you can buy an election."  The unstated answer was no.  Behind Gibson at the Cooperstown Distillery reception a few minutes ago were, from left, GOP county chair Vince Casale, Russ Bland, Cooperstown, and Rich Harlem, the Oneonta attorney.  (Jim Kevlin/allotsego.com)
