Former state Education Commissioner John King, who visited Cooperstown Elementary School on March 7, 2014, to observed progress in teaching the Common Core, is up for a confirmation vote at 4 p.m. today by the U.S. Senate as the Obama Administration’s secretary of education. With him during the local tour are, from left, Librarian Sita Fey, then-principal Teresa Gorman, ONC BOCES Superintendent Nick Savin, and CCS Superintendent of Schools C.J.
