County Appoints Social Services Commissioner

COOPERSTOWN – Eve Bouboulis, Cherry Valley, Otsego County’s deputy commissioner of social services, was promoted today to commissioner at the county Board of Representatives’ monthly meeting.  She replaces Joyce Boyd, who retired in the spring.

According to the resolution, the position pays $65,000, but only 18 percent of that is covered by local tax dollars, the rest coming from federal (66 percent) and state (16 percent) reimbursements.

Her department is the largest in county government.
