Eileen R. Littell, 87; Editor’s Daughter-In-Law

COOPERSTOWN – Eileen Reeves Littell, 87, daughter-in-law of Walter R. Littell, editor of the Otsego Farmer and an officer in the company that published The Freeman’s Journal, died Oct. 7, 2014, at Memory Care Living in Montville, N.J., after a long illness.

She was born on July 7, 1927, in Buffalo, the daughter of Eric and Dearborn (Smith) Reeves.  She grew up in Cooperstown, graduated from Cooperstown High School in 1944 and married W. Ricks Littell on July 17, 1949.

Following the death of her husband in 2004, Mrs. Littell relocated from Madison, N.J., to Cooperstown, and until recently lived at 57 Lake St., where she greatly enjoyed local friends and activities.

She is survived by son Mark and daughter-in-law Mary Ann, son Christopher and daughter-in-law Marilyn, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She will be buried in Lakewood Cemetery, Cooperstown, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 140 Highway 33 West, Suite 2, Cooperstown or online at www.alz.org.  For online condolences please visit www.moriartyfh.com
