Forum On XNG Trucks

At 6 Tonight In Milford

MILFORD –  XNG, the state Department of Transportation, State Police and the Otsego County Office of Emergency Services will be represented this evening 6-8 p.m. at Milford Central School on the “virtual pipeline” of trucks crossing the county.

Sponsored by county government, the public is welcome.

Beginning last February, XNG, a Boston-based company, began trucking gas fracked in Northeastern Pennsylvania to its plant near Little Falls, to be put into the Iroquois pipeline carrying the fuel to southern New England and Long Island.

The number of trucks and the cargo have raised safety concerns locally.  The route goes from I-88, up Routes 205, 80 and 28 from the Town of Oneonta to Richfield Springs.
