IN MEMORIAM: Guenter Knoernschild, 83;

Noted Dowser Spoke At Annual Convention

NEW BERLIN – Guenter Knoernschild, 83, a noted dowser, a skill he practiced for 60 years, passed away peacefully on Jan. 22, 2017, at Chase Memorial Nursing Home in New Berlin.

In 2009, he spoke at the annual meeting of the American Society of Dowsers, based in Danville, Vt.  His talk, “The Flow of Cosmic Energy in the River of Time,”” is available through the society’s website.

While dowsing is usually associated with finding ideal spots to dig for wells, it “is also helpful in cutting new windows and doors,” he wrote in a 1999 letter to the editor of the Old House Journal.  “It will tell you where electric wires and water pipes are located.”

He spent most of his life in Baldwin, Long Island  His former address Ouellet Road in the Town of Pittsfield, across Unadilla Creek from New Berlin in Otsego County’

A Masonic Funeral Service will take place privately and at the convenience of his family at the Johnston Funeral Home.
