Letter from Andrew (AJ) Hamill

Let Us Never Forget 9/11

September 11, 2001 was a day of infamy. I regret to say that many innocent lives were lost on that tragic day, whether they were brothers and sisters, women and men, children, and others whom we remember.

Many leaders of other nations felt our sense of grief. Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom told the Coldstream Guards to play our national anthem, whilst French President Jacques Chirac told the people of France “Nous sommes tous Amércains” (“We are all Americans)” for a sense of unity.

In the days that followed, we all came together regardless of gender, religion, political affiliation or any other aspect to declare that we are all Americans. Let all of us remember those lives that were lost on that day and let us remember and follow the words of Todd Beamer, “Let’s roll.”
