Joan Marie Lovett Bardin, 88

GARRATSVILLE – Joan Marie Lovett Bardin, 88, born May 25, 1933 in Salisbury/Lakeville CT. Joan was the daughter of Silas and Eva Lovett. Married George on June 29, 1952, in Norfolk CT and then moved to NY and raised their 3 beloved children. Joan worked many years on the family farm until they sold out in 1989.

From there Joan was a caretaker to many; but what Joan loved the most was her family. The big joke throughout the family was it was Joan’s hotline. Because she would spend hours speaking with everyone in the family every week. She was the one over the years to keep everyone together by her conversations. She loved her cat’s that was her companions for many years and tried to help the strays that came to the house.

Joan was predeceased by her parents; husband of 60 years, George Bardin; Son, Robert Bardin; Son-In-Law Maynard Webber, and several of her siblings.

Joan is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Mike) Rundle and Cindy Webber & friend Walt Burgstiner; Six Grandchildren and Thirteen Great-grand Children, Robin (Jason Summer, Sara, Tyler) Mayne, Eve (Chris, Evan, Lori, Austin) Worden. Melissa (Jerry) Smith, (Wyatt, Hailey Morlock), (Teven, Beth Smith), Ryan Bardin, Jimmy (Fawn) Hobby, (Saeber, Destin Cramer), George (Lynsi, Blake) Hobby, Her great nephew Rickey Accardi, and nephew Chuck Pellert and also Francis (Amy) Rock; brother’s, Richard (Robin) Lovett, Robert Lovett, and many nephews, nieces and dear friends.

Memorial Services will be held at Garrattsville Town Hall, Garrattsville, NY, On June 25, 2022 at 12PM. A dish to pass would be welcome.

In Memoriam: Herbert James Kozak

Herbert James Kozak (Jim), 83, of Cooperstown, New York, passed away at Bassett Medical Center on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Jim was born March 25, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to Herbert James and Therese Marie (Fischer) Kozak. After high school, Jim attended art school and worked in the hotel business. He worked his way up the ladder at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Illinois and later went on to be catering manager at Sawmill Creek Resort in Sandusky, Ohio and finally became the director of conference services at The Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown, New York, where he worked until retirement.…
