K9 Frisbee Toss, Fetch Worldwide Championship Lands in Central New York
GARRATTSVILLE—More than 40 local teams of frisbee-throwing humans and their high-flying canine athletes will compete in Garrattsville on Wednesday, September 10 as the 7th Annual K9 Frisbee Toss & Fetch Worldwide Championship comes to Central New York. A series of competitions from Saturday, September 6 through Saturday, September 13 brings together more than 1,500 competitors across 40 regional locations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Europe, organizers said.
Locally, the Garrattsville Regional Championship will be held at 4276 State Highway 51 this Wednesday at 3 p.m. Admission is free, and the public is encouraged to attend.
“K9 Frisbee Toss & Fetch was developed to give the back-yard player an easy, fun and family-friendly way to enjoy a dog sport in their local community,” said Sonja Galley, Garrattsville K9 Frisbee Toss & Fetch captain.
“Anyone, any dog, any breed, and any size can play. This championship is our way of celebrating the sport and recognizing the amazing local teams that make this league so special,” Galley said.

Launched in Northeast Ohio in 2015 by Mark Vitullo, the K9 Frisbee Toss & Fetch League has grown in just 10 years into the “funnest, friendliest dog sport on the planet,” according to a press release. With more than 300 clubs across five continents, the league celebrates community, inclusivity, and the joy of human-canine teamwork, officials said.
Scores from the Garrattsville event will be tallied against competitors worldwide, with worldwide champions announced on the league’s Facebook page, K9 Frisbee Worldwide League.
