Hartwick College (as well as SUNY Oneonta), and the Catskills you can see from Oyaron Hill, are among the things that make Oneonta cool, the Matador Network has concluded.

ONEONTA – The Matador Network, a national travel website, has found Oneonta to be one of the “20 Coolest Towns in the U.S.”  Number 14, in fact.

These are the reasons:  “Amazing food, a progressive, sustainably minded populace, a yearly hot air balloon festival, and nearby access to some of the best ski mountains in the Catskills. Nuff said.”

Asheville, N.C., and Frisco, Colo., are numbers one and two.  Oneonta is sandwiched between Silver City, N.M., and Mercer, Wis.
