ALBANY – The state Senate has confirmed Air National Guard Brig. Gen. Anthony P. German of Oneonta as a major general, State Sen. Jim Seward, R-Oneonta, announced today.

“I witnessed General German’s leadership skills first-hand in 2011 in Schoharie County,” said Seward, “as he helped coordinate the New York Air National Guard response to Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.  His dedication and expertise helped save lives and property.”

Seward is a member of the Senate Finance Committee, which must consider nominations before they are acted on by the full Senate.  He also spoke on the Senate floor in favor of the nomination.
