Village PD: 2 Cars Rifled

On Cooperstown Streets

car-breakinCOOPERSTOWN – Police are reminding village residents to lock their cars following two cases of theft from unlocked vehicles on Walnut Street and Susquehanna Avenue last night.

"One of the vehicles was a Jeep Wrangler, and the thief cut the plastic to get in," said Chief Michael Covert.

According to the Schneider's Bakery Facebook page, a couple came in and made a small purchase but asked for change of a $100 that was clearly fake.
