ONEONTA – Bunny was born to Lillian and Jacob Grossman, on April 20, 1926, in the Bronx, where she grew up.
While in New York City, she attended the Arts Students League and contributed to the war effort as a draftsperson working on advanced radar systems.
She married Howard Joseph in 1947 and was married for 73 years before his passing on Jan. 25, 2020. The couple moved to Oneonta in 1950 and became very active in the community.
ONEONTA – Dawn Adams Benjamin, 92, a former clerk at the Huntington Library who raised eight children outside Oneonta, died peacefully on Feb. 26, 2019 at Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta.
A number of weeks before, Dawn fell and broke her hip at her residence at St. James Manor, where she had lived for five years. Prior to that, Dawn lived in Otego for eight years, but she lived the bulk of her life in the big country house outside Oneonta where she and her beloved husband raised their children from the mid-1950s on.
ONEONTA – A graveside service for Mary (Hebbard) Monroe is 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Glenwood Cemetery in Oneonta. Mrs. Monroe died Friday, Sept. 7, at Fox Nursing Home, nine days short of her 85th birthday, from complications of COPD.
She was predeceased on Oct. 7, 2016, by her husband David Monroe; the couple co-owned Bookhout Funeral Home.

ONEONTA – Joseph James Sieger Sr., 48, of Oneonta, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017, at home in Oneonta.
An Army veteran, he loved fishing, beer, and rock and roll.
He’s survived by his mother, Teena Masker; six children, James, Scott, Trevor, Brett, Matthew, and Joey; three grandchildren; five siblings, long-time friend Kevin; and many additional friends and family.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Bookhout Funeral Home.
ONEONTA – Denise M. Darlin, 66, who was known for her beautiful plants and home, passed away May 7, 2017 with her devoted daughter and son-in-law by her side, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born September 24, 1950 in Sidney the daughter of the late Clarence and Jane (Hungerford) Darlin.
Denise worked from 1974-2001 for Custom Electronics where she was awarded many certificates of perfect attendance, Mac Laser Technologies 2002-2006 and lastly at Ericson Fired Arts Inc.

ONEONTA – Margaret R. Carrington, 85, former manager at several local banks and the organist at the West Davenport Baptist Church, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016.
She was born April 4, 1931, in Oneonta, the daughter of the late William V. and Bernice E. (Crounse) Rathbun. Peggy grew up on the Rathbun farm in Prosser Hollow. She went to a one-room school hous, then went on to graduate from Oneonta High School, Class of 1947.
