FLY CREEK—Howard Charles Michaels, known affectionately as Charlie, died August 26, 2023, following a brief illness. He was 89. A fifth-generation Cooperstownian, Charlie was born and raised in Cooperstown. He graduated from Cooperstown High School then enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the signal corps during the post-war occupation of Germany.…
