Hotaling, 53, who graduated from SUNY Oneonta and then worked there for 30 years,  passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Bassett Hospital. She was born on June 10, 1964 in Ridgewood, N.J., the daughter of John O. and Nancy E. (Scarr) Thompson. She married Glenn R. Hotaling on July 27, 1985, at the First Presbyterian Church in Oneonta.
