IN MEMORIAM: Joan B. Krpata, 88; ‘Nani’ Retired From County To Florida MARYLAND – Joan B. Krpata (Schnakenberg), affectionately known as “Nani,” passed away Aug.  27, 2019, at Bassett Hospital. She was born Aug. 13, 1931, in Hollis, Queens.
