Welch, 78, Cooperstown; Stylist Served Thanksgiving Home, Woodside Hall COOPERSTOWN  – Joan Welch, 78, who operated a hair salon in Cooperstown for decades, serving, in particular, residents of the Thanksgiving Home and Woodside Hall, passed away Thursday, Aug. 20. Born in Syracuse on Oct. 22, 1936, the daughter of George and Mildred Foland, she lived most of her life in Cooperstown because of her love for family, her many friends and her enjoyment of Otsego Lake.…
