Perry Will Serve

At Least 22 Years

In Parents’ Deaths

Now 24, He Would Be 46 Before

Any Possible Parole, D.A. Says

Kevin Perry

COOPERSTOWN – Kevin Perry, 24, convicted of killing his parents in Laurens last December, will soon be en route to a maximum-security prison for at least 21.875 years.

As agreed upon when he pleaded guilty in September, Perry was sentenced today in Otsego County Court to 25 year to life on each of two counts of second-degree murder, according to county District Attorney John Muehl.

If, as he was originally charged, he had been found guilty of first-degree murder, he would have had to serve two life terms without parole, Muehl said.  Instead, he could be considered for parole after he serves 7/8th of his concurrent 25-year terms, which would make him 46.
