Oneonta Airport Hosts Fewer Planes For Induction, But Has a Few Surprises

HALL OF FAME WEEKEND 2015

Oneonta Airport Hosts Fewer Planes

For Induction, But Sees a Few Surprises

As Induction weekend begins, air traffic has increased at the Oneonta Airport thanks to many of the inductees. 'This is the busiest season for our airport' said Dennis Finn, Commissioner Chair for the Oneonta Municipal airport. "There aren't as many as last year. The Yankees and the Mets have not come in, but John Smaltz (Atlanta Braves pitcher and 2015 Inductee) flew in two planes for himself and his family." There have also been a few surprises, like unannounced aircraft dropping people off and a fly-by by a dirigible advertising the upcoming Peanuts movie which cruised down the runway about 30ft off the ground. For now, the plans have been arranged in case more come in, but none are expected. (Ian Austin/ allotsego.com
