IN MEMORIAM: Sylvia Barringer, 87; Raised 9 Children After Husband Died RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Sylvia Barringer, 87, who raised nine children on her own in Herkimer after her husband died in 1968, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Bassett Hospital with her family by her side.
