VENICE, FLORIDA—Jeffrey Richard Smith, son of Gayle and Jack Smith of Cooperstown, entered into eternal rest Wednesday night, March 1, 2023, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in North Venice, Florida following an extended illness. He was 60. Arrangements will be announced under the care and guidance of the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home in Cooperstown.

COOPERSTOWN – Warrene S. “Lennie” Macarthur, 79, of Venice, Fla., and the Cooperstown area, died following a valiant year-long battle with cancer on Tuesday morning, Sept. 22, 2020, at her home on Stocking Brook Road, Town of Otsego, with family by her side.

She was born Nov. 21, 1940, in Amarillo, Texas, the eldest child and only daughter of Warren Perry and Vera Pearl née Gutshall Shreve.

Irene Harlem

ONEONTA – Irene Harlem, 86, Oneonta, wife of the late state Supreme Court Judge Robert A. Harlem, passed away Feb. 25, 2019, at Fox Hospital.

She was born March 28, 1932, in Amityville, the daughter of Herman and Margaret (Wagner) Muller.

Irene grew up on Long Island, where she met and married Charles Mann in September 1951.  In 1965, they moved to Mount Vision.  Irene then married Judge Harlem in 1982; she worked for her husband as a law clerk.
