HELP FOR ADDICTS

Coop Chief’s Immediate Response Plan Starts

COOPERSTOWN – Beginning Thanksgiving Day, heroin addicts can walk into the Cooperstown Police station at 22 Main and be assigned to a detox and recovery program “on the spot,” Chief Michael Covert is announcing on his department’s Facebook page.

“Bassett Medical Center has committed to helping fast-track people that walk into the police station so that they can be assessed quickly and the proper care can be administered quickly,” Covert wrote.
